If you randomly expected this Phillies rollercoaster ride to finish with only a few games to go, you’re drunk.
I’ve never felt so sad watching a team “in contention” in my life.
They easily should be destroying Baltimore. Not taking them to extra innings…..
Regardless, JT Realmuto came up large in the tenth inning!

He honestly should have been intentionally-walked after Bryce Harper which would have sent Andrew Knapp to the dish.
It’s a gamble though.
The game-winning run moves to second instead of staying at first, but you face a significantly worse hitter if you’re the Orioles.
Good thing they made the wrong decision!
Prior to this AB, Jean Segura struck out with one of the worst approaches I’ve ever seen from him.
Segura then told JT crucial information on what to watch for while heading back to the dugout.
Pretty cool to hear the communication and little details that go into a successful trip to the plate.
What’s not cool?
Base running mistakes.
That’s inevitable though when Bryce Harper is constantly creating traffic. He’s super aggressive and will run into tough outs. It’s just something we have to live with as the success outweighs the negative.
We love Bryce Harper's aggressiveness, but trying to go to 2nd on that hit was not smart#Phillies #RingTheBell pic.twitter.com/1ZQZJH5f8n

That same level of intensity on the bases played a major role in Bryce flying home to win.
By the way, so much credit has to go to the bullpen!
I vomit thinking about this team every 5th day because it reminds me of their desperation.
With that said, anytime I see a victory utilizing this method it’s easier to sleep at night.
Medina: 3.2 IP, 1 ER
Alvarado: 1.1 IP
Bradley: 1.0 IP
Neris: 2.0 IP
Kennedy: 2.0 IP
It’ll have a snowball effect in a future game unless Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola buy the relief pitchers time.
It’s extremely difficult for me to get super stoked tbh. It’s so unfortunate.
I can’t lie….. the moment I watched the ball land in RF….
I didn’t feel that much excitement.
I keep telling myself I made it this far so why not just continue this jerkoff fake pretend playoff ride?
I’m trying my best to hang in there.
“Maybe this sparks the team!”
