Phillies Fans, Are You Tuning Into the Playoffs?

The MLB Postseason begins tonight, Tuesday, with a fantastic matchup between the Yankees and Boston in Fenway Park. I have an adrenaline rush just thinking about my ass being parked on the couch for all 9 innings.

Hopefully more than 9. Give me extras!

*News dropped as I’m writing this JD Martinez, ankle injury, will not be available for the Red Sox*

Let’s not forget about the RED HOT Cardinals flying to LA to face a 100+ win Dodgers team on Wednesday with no Max Muncy in the NL Wild Card game.

I recently had a conversation with a bunch of my buddies that are Phillies fans and overall baseball fans about how excited I am.

The problem?

The energy wasn’t reciprocated.

Why?

“The Phillies destroyed postseason baseball for me.”

I’m sorry…. What?

There’s no way I’m going to allow an average baseball team ruin the best time of the year.

Look at it this way. If a woman broke my heart, what’s my response? Continue to find a woman!

Well dammit I will continue to watch baseball!

Not all women are bad and not all baseball teams are bad so let’s enjoy the good ones!

Listen to that intensity. This wasn’t even a playoff moment, but it sure sounded like it.

I just couldn’t imagine not watching the best teams in the most high-leverage spots.

Every pitch matters. Every walk with 2 outs becomes that much more important.

Who is going to be the pitching hero that throws a gem off short rest?

Who’s the next Steve Pearce?

You’d think that person is probably on San Francisco 😂

I completely understand the sport is regionalized, but I’m also not talking about casuals that don’t follow the Phillies’ day-to-day efforts.

If you are investing in 162 then you clearly have a strong connection with the game.

So I ask you Phillies fans out there: The emotional rollercoaster ride that was, the blown saves, the inconsistent offense, the poor defense… Is that the difference in you diving into the postseason?
